Areas of Practice

Civil Rights

The majority of my practice is in the areas of civil and constitutional rights litigation, with a focus on employment discrimination and police-related litigation.

If you feel like you've been discriminated against based on your race, sex, religion, national origin, disability, genetic disorder, gender identity, or sexual orientation, or if you think the government has violated your Constitutional rights, contact me.

Appeals

Another large part of my practice is handling both criminal and civil appeals. If you have recently lost a case, and you want a higher court to review it, contact me. Here's video of me arguing before the Kentucky Supreme Court:

Administrative Appeals

Although I see a lot of police abuse in my line of work, I have also been fortunate enough to represent honest and hardworking law enforcement officers who have been unjustly disciplined or terminated by their departments. I also handle other administrative appeals related to employment, such as unemployment benefits, professional discipline, and employee grievance hearings.

Post-conviction/Habeas Corpus Petitions

Even if you have been convicted of a crime and have exhausted your appeals, there may be an opportunity to reverse your conviction. I have experience in several different kinds of post-conviction relief, including cases of ineffective assistance of counsel and newly discovered evidence.

Everything Else

It's really impossible to sum up everything a lawyer does on a webpage. If you need legal assistance, get in touch with me. I became a lawyer to help people. If I can't help you, I'll tell you I can't help you, and I'll try to connect you with someone who can.
